IBM hat nun einen „Hotfix 1“ für das Fix Pack 5 für den Notes Standard Client Version 9.0.1 fertig gestellt.

** UPDATE ** A fix for the issue described in this technote has been delivered via Interim Fix 1 for Notes Standard 9.0.1 Fix Pack 5. You can install 901 FP5 IF1 on any installed version of 9.0.1.x. Bei mir ist der Fehler mit dem 9.0.1er Standard-Client auch aufgetreten – hatte es allerdings auf meine durch viele Tests und Änderungen maßgeblich „vermurkste“ Client-Installation zurückgeführt. Nur eine Deinstallation mit manueller Löschung der verbliebenen Dateien nebst nachfolgender Neuinstallation haben mir wieder einen funktionierenden Notes Client beschert.

IBM schreibt:

Abstract
A critical problem has been discovered with upgrading to Notes Standard 9.0.1 Fix Pack 5 from an earlier 9.0.1 Fix Pack or Hotfix. The install ends with the message „The wizard was interrupted before IBM Notes 9.0.1 FP5 could be completely installed.“ At this point, Notes may not launch. Installing 9.0.1 FP5 on 9.0.1 Gold installs without error.

IBM has pulled Notes Standard 9.0.1 Fix Pack 5 for Windows from Fix Central to prevent further customer exposure while this issue is under investigation. This technote will be updated with new estimated posting information in the coming days.

Notes/Domino 8.5.3 Fix Pack 5 is a scheduled Fix Pack of low-risk, high-impact fixes to help customers safely avoid known issues. IBM strongly recommends that customers running Notes/Domino 8.5.3 upgrade to this latest Fix Pack since it addresses a small percentage of defects that impact the broadest set of customers. Fix Packs are released periodically between Maintenance Releases to provide a greater level of stability for customer environments. They go through the same level of fix, regression and interoperability testing that occurs with Maintenance Releases. Fix Packs are always cumulative and contain all of the fixes from previous ones.

Notes/Domino 8.5.3 Fix Pack 5 addresses defects in both the Client and Server. All Fix Packs are language independent and may be applied on any language version of Notes/Domino 8.5.3.
