Our new Calendar interface means your co-workers, meeting location and resources availability is displayed at-a-glance – creating or updating a meeting has never been faster or easier. Users can also customize their availability in their preferred time zone to let people know when they’re available for meetings.
Don’t Wait to Communicate – Persistent Chat Empowers Users
Use the power of the latest persistent chat features in Sametime from within the Verse UX. This new feature allows you to leave a Sametime chat message for colleagues who are offline or who have marked themselves as “Do Not Disturb” (requires Sametime® version 11.6.2 or higher FP or Sametime version 12 or higher and persistent chat option enabled on Sametime server).
Sent-From Feature
We introduced this popular feature in Notes v12 and received great feedback from the Domino community. Therefore, HCL is bringing this feature to Verse in 3.0. You can now select the mail alias or internet address that you want to use when sending an email. This is particularly useful to those with mail-in databases managed by various users and those with multiple identities in the same company.

Here’s a fun scenario to imagine. You wake up in the morning, it’s a sunny day and you decide to take your coffee and your laptop and wander down to the end of your garden where your WiFi doesn’t reach. No need to be disappointed or distracted by social media pinging you all the time. Just focusing on your work. Now this is possible with HCL Nomad Web just like it is with the Notes client.

HCL Nomad for Web Browsers
For HCL Nomad Web, version 1.0.4 is now available to entitled customers for download on our license and download portal.
This release now fully supports replication and offline mode to work in local replicas.

HCL Nomad for iOS and Android
New versions have also just been released for iOS and Android. Customers should note that those versions will be minimum version to support the new Nomad Server on Domino that is planned to be shipping in September.
HCL Nomad 1.0.22 for iOS was released Monday July 11th. It is available now on the app store.
This release mainly contains bug fixes like API currency updates raising minimum iOS level to 13 or higher (latest is iOS 15).
HCL Nomad 1.0.31 for Android released on the Google Play store on June 30th and our license and download portal on July 5th and is providing defect fixes.

Da das Format eines „Jams“ eventuell nicht allen hier ein Begriff sein dürfte, hierzu zunächst eine kurze Beschreibung: Ein Jam soll den Austausch zwischen Hersteller HCL und den Usern, Developern und Admins von HCL Domino/Notes fördern. Hierbei stellt HCL üblicherweise den Status Quo (mit einem kleinen Rückblick auf die Ergebnisse früherer Veranstaltungen) und einen Ausblick vor.
In der interaktiven Jam-Session werden dann Ideen für Produktverbesserungen der Teilnehmenden in kleinen Gruppen gesammelt, in Gruppen zusammengefasst und anschließend priorisiert. Diese Ideen müssen nicht nur technischer Natur sein, sondern können auch andere Randgebiete des Produktes (Support, Lizenzierung, Marketing etc. pp.) betreffen. Insgesamt bildet sich damit für uns als Hersteller ein klareres Bild über die Wahrnehmung unserer Roadmap und die Wünsche aus dem Markt heraus, das wir in die Bewertung für die künftige Entwicklung einfließen lassen.
Die Darstellung des Prozesses begonnen mit der Sammlung von Ideen über A-HA und Jams, über die Verfeinerung und Priorisierung in Interviews und mit Hilfe von Forschung bis hin zur Roadmap war ebenfalls Teil dieses Pilot-Jams. Hierbei wurde am Beispiel des Projekts KEEP (der kontrollierten REST API zu Domino-Anwendungen) deutlich, dass das Feedback aus der Community deutlich gehört wird – und ein gestrichenes Feature dann doch wieder auf der Roadmap landen kann.
In Frankfurt waren 18 Teilnehmende gemeldet, davon 9 Business Partner – auch als „Vertreter“ ihrer Kunden – und 9 Kundinnen und Kunden. Dadurch ergab sich ein guter Mix aus Menschen, die sich täglich aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln mit Notes und Domino beschäftigen. Entsprechend der HCL Roadmap und dem neuen Angebot HCL Volt MX Go, mit dem mithilfe von HCL Volt MX auch native, mobile Apps und moderne Browser-Anwendungen für bestehende Domino-Datenbanken gebaut werden können, lag der Fokus dieses Jams auf Entwickler-Themen.
Nachdem technische Probleme mit dem Beamer im Raum durch die Haustechniker behoben werden konnten, startete die Einführung durch die HCL Produktmanager (es waren wirklich viele da – nochmal vielen Dank an Andrew Manby, Barry Rosen und Thomas Hampel). Im Anschluss zeigte der HCL Ambassador Bernd Gewehr seine Demo von der Engage und der #dachnug49 – nun allerdings in einer erweiterten Fassung. So konnten die Anwesenden – aus erster Hand und gut nachvollziehbar – sehen, wie man aus dem bekannten Teamroom die Felder für die Darstellung in einer Volt MX-Oberfläche abrufen kann. Der in dieser Vorabversion bereits vorhandene Domino-Connector in Volt MX stellt somit eine verlässliche Datenverbindung zu bestehenden Domino-Datenbanken her, die zudem auch mit anderen Datenquellen (z.B. aus ServiceNow oder SAP) verknüpft werden können.
Am spannendsten war für uns von HCL natürlich die Jam-Session selbst. Hier zeigte sich die ganze Bandbreite von Anforderungen, beispielsweise:
Interessant war für uns, dass zwei Teams unabhängig voneinander die Einführung von Universitätsprogrammen ebenfalls auf die Liste gesetzt haben. Hierbei war sowohl die Unterstützung von einzelnen Lehrstühlen ein Thema (ESN, Low Code, „Groupware“) als auch ein Lizenzprogramm für Universitäten, damit deren Studierende frühzeitig auch mit HCL Software in Berührung kommen.
Alle Ideen wurden von den Gruppen präsentiert (die Präsentationen wurden auf Englisch aufgezeichnet, damit sie auch dem breiteren Team zur Verfügung stehen) und die Idea-Boards abfotografiert. Über die verschiedenen Veranstaltungen weltweit wird sich so eine große, im kleinen gewichtete, Sammlung von Vorschlägen ergeben, die wir dann in den Roadmap-Prozess einfließen lassen.
