This message has been sent to advise your technical and service teams regarding an upcoming enhancement to IBM\'s LotusLive Notes, LotusLive Engage, LotusLive Connections, and LotusLive Meetings services. Within the next several days we will introduce improved Acceleration Network technology. As you may be aware, Acceleration Networks optimize the route between the User\'s device and the LotusLive services. This enhancement comes to you free of charge and will benefit your users, particularly those using low bandwidth or high latency internet connections.
(Note, at this time only parts of the LotusLive Notes service are being moved to the Acceleration Networks. The Notes client connections and LotusLive Notes service once authenticated will be moved to the Acceleration Network shortly.)
As a reminder, and in an effort to avoid any disruption for your users, IBM recommends that you and your users utilize DNS names, rather than IP addresses, when connecting to the LotusLive services. This will become more important as we introduce the Acceleration Network technology as the related IP addresses may change often and without notice.

The Global E-Health Forum is pleased to announce Richard C. Alvarez, President and Chief Executive Officer of Canada Health Infoway as one of the keynote speakers at this year\'s conference. Mr. Alvarez will present "Transforming Healthcare in Canada through E-Health", discussing the challenges facing the health system in Canada and the role of information and information technology within a reformed health system.
The Global E-Health Forum - Hamburg 2011 entitled "Designing Personalized Healthcare" will feature more speakers from all over the globe. Their strategy presentations and case studies will be complemented by discussion forums, workshops and an exhibition of solution providers.

Ytria databaseEZ – Another really useful tool for Domino Admins and Developers
I have been working with Ytria's excellent tools for many years now and there's not a single day in my life as a Domino developer or admin I don't use scanEZ or one of the other tools. That's one of the reasons we became a business partner with Ytria.
For one of our customers who is running several dozens of Domino-based enterprise web sites I had to change the "inherit design from master template" name in 46 databases. Doing this manually would have been very tedious, but using the soon-to-be-released tool "databaseEZ" made this a matter of only a few seconds.
When databaseEZ has started, the UI is very similar to aclEZ or agentEZ. The navigation pane on the left allows me to select the databases I want to see in the grid. Even when I select all databases on the server, the grid updates in a breeze. Since the property "Inherit from" is not displayed in the grid by default, I have to select it in the "Grid Data Composition" panel on the right, press "Apply" and the information is populated instantly. Then I just need to group the databases by this property, select the ones I want to change and select "Edit Database Design Properties" from the context menu. There I can change the name of the template the databases inherit from and after OK'ing the dialog the grid is updated with the new data. In order to actually save my changes I press CTRL-S or select "Server - Apply Changes" from the menu and I'm done.
That's just one of the many features in databaseEZ which make my Domino life so much easier. I will post a more detailed review of the tool soon, just wanted to share this today. Thank you guys!

IBM Lotus Connections in Version 3.0.1

Die Hauptänderungen sind das Einführen einer erweiterten Moderation, eine Mediengalerie und das neue Ideation-Blog. Weiterhin bietet die neue Version eine Integration in Enterprise Content Management (ECM) Systeme. |
Eine neue Mediengalerie soll die Verwendung von Bildern und Videos vereinfachen. Benutzer können Bilder und Videos hochladen, die dann als Thumbnail dargestellt werden. Zusätzlich werden Informationen über die letzte Aktualisierung oder die Anzahl der Downloads angezeigt. Es ist ebenso möglich, die hochgeladenen Dateien zu kommentieren.
Ein neues Feature wurde aus bestehenden Mitteln verfügbar gemacht. Das Ideation-Blog ist ein Blog, der einer Gruppe hinzugefügt werden kann. Der Hintergrund ist, dass Gruppenmitglieder Ideen in dieses Blog schreiben und mit anderen Benutzern diskutieren können. Durch die Integration mit Activities können ausgehend von einer Idee Workflows gestartet werden, um die Idee umzusetzen.
Die Integration in ECM-Systeme beschränkt sich bislang auf den FileNet Content Manager und den IBM Content Manager. Es ist damit möglich, direkt aus der Community auf hinterlegten Dateien zuzugreifen.
